I have been trying for hours and hours to get someone at SOS online Backup services to help me first, to get their backup system to actually backup my computer.On 8/15/13 I discovered, by mistake, that they had not backed up my home system since 7/6/13.
I could not get anyone on Chat (after 5 minutes of waiting a screen came on stating noone was available and an email will be sent). The email was sent to me 5 hours later at that time I had already figured out what to do. I waited on the phone for (1) hour just to be told there was not one available and then the phone hung up. Then I sent three more emails asking how I could cancel my subsription (I was not going to deal with a company that would not even respond to my chat request, phone or emails).
I decided to go with Carbonite online backup and they actually had a technical person who talked to me for over an hour helping me and all I had was a trial version of their program.
I still am unable to cancel my account with them and I am paid up until 2014. Their is nothing on their website that allows you to cancel an account, only to upgrade one.
This experience has been so frustrating that I don't even care if I can cancel, I just do not want them to renew in 2014.
I have no way of telling by the account information available on their website, if I have a renewing account or just a one-time purchase.
